I frequently use the word magnet to describe my attraction and/or repulsion to places, things and people. The word magnet even reminds me of how I sometimes repel them in my mind, but deep down have an attraction, or vice versa. I call this the third phenomenon of magnetism, where two magnets spin, being drawn together and repelled intermittently, kind of like a yo-yo effect. I’ll be straight with all of you. I haven’t felt well at all lately, but I’m only mentioning this because I feel that I can no longer feign wellness. My last post was a clear indication that I can no longer keep up the front. Quitting the “front” is a huge relief and writing about this is cathartic.
I know that feigning wellness is not solely practiced by people suffering from mental illness. I think many people (or even most people) out there have covered up their true feelings at times, especially in front of others. I am feeling far from sunny today. Grief fills my heart, mind and soul and everything around me looks grey and decaying. Even with my bedroom light turned on I feel overwhelmed. I shut my curtains for relief. It’s almost as if I have a migraine, but there is no headache, per se. No, my head doesn’t ache, but a great weight is bearing down on it, causing dullness in thinking, strain, and utter fatigue. Continue reading
