A transient rest and stretch in a Costa Rican forest. If I know my birds correctly, and I think I do, the left wing stretch will be next.

Hello diyingmachine. All I know is that it is a hummingbird that I saw and photographed in Costa Rica. I tried to look up hummingbirds in Costa Rica, but couldn’t find a reliably perfect match. Hummingbirds from all over the US fly to central America. This hummer looks azure to me, but it’s hard to tell from the light. It could be more purplish. I think the photograph was taken in June of 2011.
