Those who’ve followed my blog have surely noticed that my posts take on many forms. I write a lot of articles (especially mental health-related), reflections (on many topics), and sometimes prose stories. I also occasionally write my own brand of poetic stories, but only when I’m in a special mood. Most of my written stories are usually based on real people and events, though I’ll admit plenty of fiction has been created in my head over the years in the form of day dreams. Lately my mood has been low so I’ve struggled to use some daily prompts in positive (or at least neutral) ways. I try very hard not to allow my thoughts to always turn to the negative. When I saw today’s prompt “tethered” you can imagine my first thoughts were of people or animals tied to something, restricting their freedom to explore, or the like. Yesterday I wrote a post Pluck me from this horrid place where I described being chained up and locked in a room. Luckily I ended the post with thoughts of freedom, though.
So I do recognize that being tethered to something is not always a bad thing, especially if it’s temporary and ultimately for some good. Continue reading
Many places (regions, cities) in the United States have distinctive vocabulary and pronunciation of the American English language. My hubby says that is even the case of Czech within Bohemia in his relatively small native country of Czech Republic. I really enjoy studying the English language and exploring differences in dialects.
