I’ve felt so unwell for the past couple of weeks. I must confess that I “fell off the wagon” both weeks, but particularly this week. Some of my meals were just scrounged from the far reaches of the fridge. Some were delivery, and not the most diet-friendly choices. I guess in my ill state I just didn’t care. Sorry I’m not a better example for dieters right now. Those who follow this update series know that I gained a bit last week. My weight has been going up and down. Last week I went down to the basement to browse through some old photo albums. Do you all remember them? Albums that contain printed photographs? LOL! Nowadays photos seem to only be kept electronically. Having physical photo albums ages me a bit. Well, I guess I certainly have aged.
How I find joy in the occasional foggy day, when my senses become extra keen and mind is soothed. Let me take a walk outside right now, and then a drive to my favorite nearby spots. I won’t venture far. I have no need to. Continue reading →
I’m like a turtle sitting in its box, or at the least slowly making its way to a not so obvious destination, and then returning home in frustration.
I am slowed down not just from my general condition, but a chemical fix that is meant to keep me sedated and calm. Unfortunately this fix slows me down more than I’d wish. I try to push myself. I believe a true traveler embarks on journeys that leave a lasting impression on their heart and mind. The voyage doesn’t have to be to another country or faraway land. It can be an exploration near home and the distance traveled not geographical, but one that is philosophical or experiential.
